Agility
Class Descriptions
Agility classes will prepare your dog for either
the Fun Agility League or your first Agility Competition. There
are also workshops that will be scheduled periodically to cover
different topics - be sure to check the Schedule
for whats coming up!
Beginner
|
$120.00
6 weeks - 90 minute session
Minimum 3 dogs - Maximum 6

| Eligibility: |
Any
age dog 10 months or older can attend as long as they are healthy
and non-agressive to dogs or people. This class assumes that
both dog and handler have the knowledge outlined for Foundation
1 & Foundation 2 classes. |
| Description: |
In
this class you will take the skills learned in Pre-Agility
classes and apply them to learning the agility equipment set
a their lowest heights. Such as the tunnel, jumping, climbing
over an A-frame, running the dog walk, balancing on a teeter-totter
and the shooting thru the closed tunnel. Progresssing with
targeting will help guide your dog to specific points. Stretching
exercises are also taught to warm up your dog and are recommended
before each class for your dog’s safety.

criteria for the Pre-Agility classes.
* Dog must be healthy & non-aggressive dogs and people.

|

both dog and handler have the knowledge from the Beginners class. |

We
will continue to build confidence on all the obstacles learned
in Beginner class as the contact equipment begins to increase
to regulation height each class. We'll begin
handling moves as we start to sequence more obstacles.

criteria for the Beginners class.
* Dog MUST be able to work off leash for this class.

| Eligibility: |
Any
age dog 12 months or older can attend as long as they are healthy
and non-agressive to dogs or people. This class assumes that
both dog and handler have the knowledge from the Novice class. |
| Description: |
We're
focusing on handling in this class and ensuring that the dogs
are continuing to perform equipment properly. We'll begin
to discuss more strategy as the courses get trickier. Level
of difficulty will continue to increase for dog and handler.

both dog and handler have the knowledge from the Intermediate
class. |
| Description: |
This
is the handling and proofing class - it is focused on ensuring
that your team is ready for Agility Fun League or entering
your first competitive trial. Advanced level courses will
be run with more difficult handling moves, increasing the
distance work and also learning games strategy.
Games
are run as well as Standard and Jumpers courses to familarize
handlers with the rules of games.

|

both dog and handler have the knowledge from the Intermediate
class. |
| Description: |
Work
on advanced level courses for handling and sequence work.

| Pre-requisite
for attendance: |

You must be currently competing at the Master/Excellent level
with your dog
* Any healthy, non-aggressive dog can attend! |
| SCHEDULE |
|
Private
Lessons
|
*
30 & 60 minute lessons are available throughout the
week and some weekends. Email or call to schedule a lesson.
* Private Lesson Cancellation Policy: 24 hours notice must
be given when cancelling a private lesson or the full fee
will be charged.

| Class
Auditing |
When
dogs come to class with more than one handler - an audit fee
will be charged for the 2nd handler. The fee is $10/class. |
| Make
Up Policy |
*
Make-up classes will be provided only for classes cancelled
by the instructor due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
*
Attendance at all other classes is the responsibility of the
handler.
* Handlers that miss a class due to conflicts of their own
can schedule a 30 or 60 minute private lesson to make up what
was missed.
